I have really been neglecting Yummy Mommy lately. Bear with me, its almost the end of the school year and then I'll be unemployed, and will therefor have TONS of time for blogging and other fun pursuits. In the meantime, peace and blessings to all!

A New Addiction!

Is anyone else out there totally addicted to facebook? I think thats another reason I haven't been blogging as much- I'm spending all my time on facebook, searching out new friends and communicating with old ones. Its pretty cool, you can find people you haven't heard from in forever really easily. you should check it out- and when you do, add me to your friends!

Got the blahs!

Maybe it has to do with the um...several G & T's I ingested last night, but I am feeling a trifle blech today, and very uninspired about something to blog about. Lately I have been to tired at night during the week to think of anything to write, so I try to post on the weekends. I am trying to think of something interesting to say, but...nope, nothing! I hope you are all having a more inspiring Sunday than I am, and hopefully something will come to me soon! Caio!

I should change my name to "grumpy mommy"

For this post I am going to borrow saucytart's style of third person posting. Why, you ask? Cause I like it, darn it- look at the title of this post- I'm GRUMPY! Don't ask questions.

Yummy Mommy has some pet peeves to get off her chest. Lately she has noticed that there is much unfairness, iniquity and rudeness in the world, and she must VENT about it to avoid taking her frustration out on the husband.

So, without further adieu, here is Yummy Mommy's list of annoying things:

• bosses who don't acknowledge the fact that their TEMPORARY employees are without jobs next year, and ask them to train the PERMANENT employees who will be taking their jobs from them.
• people who drive too fast and endanger Yummy Mommy's (and anyone else's) loved ones
• people who don't look after their animals- why HAVE them if you aren't going to take CARE of them?
• people who don't look after their children. You HAD them, they didn't ask to be born- look after them, dammit.
• SNOBBY people
• MEN who treat women like dirt
• WOMEN who treat men like dirt
• people who take advantage of others- meaning anyone who only cares about their own interest in any transaction with another human being
• WARMONGERS- anyone in power whose global policies lead to instability on the planet, potentially endangering innocents
• LIARS
• people who can't just let others live their lives as they see fit but feel they have to impose their own moral values on others- if it ain't HURTING you, don't WORRY about it
• governments who cut social programs in order to save money- it is always the most powerless in society who suffer under these policies
• governments who cut funding to education- we mandate that our children spend 6.5 hours a day in school (unless being home-schooled, of course)- it had better darn well be quality time
• ASSHOLES!

Whew, Yummy Mommy feels a whole lot better, actually. Thanks for listening, folks. Remember- do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and you can't go wrong! Unless you are an asshole, then GET THE HELL OVER YOURSELF and start acting nice.

There's no place like home!

Ah, home! Nothing like going away for the weekend to make you appreciate it, as we did this weekend to visit some friends who live on a small Island near here. It was fun, for sure, especially for the kiddies, as they have three around the same ages as ours, plus kittens, chicks, piglets, and turkeys as well as a giant friendly dog. The island is also beautiful, with a lovely lake to swim in, a nice restaurant to eat in, and a lively soccer game every Saturday that I participated in. Unfortunately the "lively soccer game" took place in at midday in the blazing sun in a field completely surrounded by trees so not a breath of breeze can cool off the over-heating participants. Plus everyone who plays is a total soccer FANATIC so the game went on for 2 hours (I admit I quit after and hour and a half) This made me too tired to stay long at the BBQ we had been invited to that night on the most beautiful piece of oceanfront property I have ever seen, so I retreated to our friend's place with a few of the kiddies as an excuse and fell asleep before they did. Even with all the sleep, I am super tired and so looking forward to sleeping in our own bed tonight! That Dorothy really knew what she was talking about!
