Despite the fact that the sun only shone about 6 times all summer up here in the Pacific North-west, we still managed to have a pretty darn good time. I'm still not quite ready to do a big post yet, so I thought I'd do a kind of "photo-essay" on some of our summer-time activities.
Visiting with babies...
Visiting a bunny farm...
Hangin' at the river...
Sitting on a mountain watching people do crazy stuff on a mountain bike... this jump is seriously about 25 feet in the air! (no, thats not me)
We tried surfing... (we got a lesson, that's our lovely Aussie surf instructor in the background there)
Paddle boating...
A little mini-golf...
Camping, complete with s'mores...
Tree hugging (hey, we're from the west coast!)
Hanging out on the beach on the stunning, if rainy, west coast of Vancouver Island...
Under-tree crouching... (is that an activity???)
...and resting 'cause we're so worn out from all the action!
You may notice that in a significant number of the pictures, we are actually wearing toques (that's a knitted hat you wear in the winter, for you Americans, it rhymes with kook, as in a crazy person, not sure what you call 'em down there. In fact, you probably don't even need them most places). But I am off topic. The point was, in the middle of August, you had to keep your bean warm to prevent hypothermia, it was that cold this summer! One of the coldest and rainiest I can remember, actually.
