Closet Space

Well, my blog is boring- so far! I just checked out some other blogs- this one is hilariuos: Foolery . Well, I'm new at this, so hopefully  I can pick it up a bit!!Anyhoo,as for my "goal of the month"- I finally got that darn closet cleaned out- I meant to take before and after shots, but for some reason my "before" shot turned out to be just a picture of my crappy dresser that I hate more than anything. I guess you can kinda see the messy closet in the corner there.

And here it is after. Yeah, doesnt look that much better, does it? I have so many clothes- why do I feel like I never have anything to wear? Cleaning it out and getting rid of stuff I don't LOVE did help me see a few gaps though- like some dressier shoes or boots with a heel for going out, and a white blouse to replace my favorite white t-shirt that I accidentally burned when I threw it on a candle in my friends bathroom on Halloween night when I was trying on some clothes for a costume. So, I did get a short sleeved white blouse that is really cute- I'd take a picture of it but my husband already thinks I'm a weirdo for putting a picture of our closet on my blog (I took it from an angle so you can't see his side- he's messy). If I start taking pictures of my clothes he'll really think I've cracked up. I also got some black suedish (I mean, fake suede, not boots from Sueden, ha ha) booties with a wedge heel. Maybe I'll take pictures tomorrow when he's not home! My plan is to decide BEFORE I go shopping exactly (or more or less) what it is I need to fill a gap in my wardrobe, and then find something I love, rather than just buying random stuff that I get home and realize I have nothing to wear with.

We decorated our tree yesterday: Cute, huh? Its a fakie cause hubby is allergic to trees... and cats..and guinea pigs... and horses... and fish (to eat, not as pets) and so on. Sweet guy, though. I'd really like a horse though... we'll have to see how this marriage thing works out. Thats a joke. He's not getting rid of me that easily!

My Birthday

Its my birthday today! I'm 38! Wow. Somehow, that doesn't freak me out as much as I would have thought when I was in my 20's. I don't mind getting older; I like the confidence that comes with it. Since we are snowed in today, it would be a great day to go through my wardrobe and get rid of some clothes, and determine what I need. If it weren't for those glasses of wine I had last night, I'd get right on it. I also need to take Brodie out in the snow, and the house is a mess from us being snowed in for 3 days... I should really get on that stuff! However, all I want to do is nap.

Goal of the month

I've decided that every month, I will choose a goal to work towards in my quest to becoming a "yummier mommy". I am turning 38 in 4 days! Although my style has been evolving for years, as I'm sure veryones does- I've been through the 80's Madonna look, the "new-age hippy" look, the "headbanger" look and the "sporty look", to name a few! As I have gotten older, and have gotten a "real" job, my style has definitely gotten more grown up. Unfortunately, I have never been one of those people who just knows what to wear. I've always had to try on 20 outfits when I'm going out - and sometimes in the morning too, and who has time for that- before I finally say "Good enough", (rarely is it "I love it!). My goal this month (December) is, by the end of the month, to have nothing in my closet but clothes I love and feel great in, clothes that (mostly) work together! I guess the first step is to get rid of stuff that isn't working for me, and decide what I really need to add.
