Man, was I ever excited when I heard a news report on the radio this morning stating that researchers at the University of Guadalajara have discovered that the agave plant, from which Yummy Mommy's favorite shooter, tequila, is derived, has some important health benefits, such as blocking absorption of fat in the intestine, which could help in weight loss. "This is a dream come true!", I thought. Now I can go on that margarita diet I have always dreamed of - think of it, margaritas for breakfast, margaritas for lunch and dinner. And when my boss complains about me being drunk at work, I can just mumble "Oh, give it a resht. Itsh for my health, don't you know, you big..." (afterwards, at the disciplinary hearing, I could claim that the last part was "the tequila talking"). I grabbed my purse and headed for the door to hit the liquor store (not quite open at that hour, but hey, I'd wait), when the radio announcer's words stopped me in my tracks: "Unfortunately for tequila lovers, all the health benefits of the agave plant are lost when it is distilled into alcohol." CURSES! My dreams, popped like a balloon in a toddler's hands. They say red wine is good for you though...
